Cooperativism in the Amazon: celebrating women's month with empowerment

In women's month, March, we highlight initiatives that strengthen the women's wing in various roles, here at AMAKOS da Amazônia. For those who don't know yet, the startup is led by South Korean entrepreneur Soon Hee Han.

The company plays a significant role in employing and generating income for women who work in the Innovation, Research and Development (R&DI) laboratory; at the factory, in Manaus; in cooperatives, which promote standing forests; at distribution points; among other locations. They are essential throughout the company’s value chain.

Did you know that Amakos supports the Resolved Women Project?

An important example of empowerment is AMAKOS' partnership with Mulheres Resolvidas, an initiative led by Vidinha Cavalcante, one of the 20 community leaders recognized by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP).

This project aims to promote food security, income generation and protection against all forms of violence, including domestic violence, in the Uatumã Sustainable Development Reserve (RDS), in the municipalities of São Sebastião do Uatumã and Itapiranga.

Cooperativism in our DNA

AMAKOS' partnership with the Resolved Women Project goes beyond financial support. Do you know why? The startup maintains a commercial relationship with RDS do Uatumã, purchasing copaíba oil for its Copaíba Hydra skincare line.

Participate in this movement in favor of the Resolved Women Project

Committed to social programs, the company decided to allocate 8% of the sales value of this line to the Resolved Women Project to pay for the transportation of 40 project participants. The support seeks to facilitate their meetings, considering the long distances within the Uatumã RDS.

In addition to contributing to the economic and social empowerment of women in the Amazon, AMAKOS da Amazônia invites you to discover the Copaíba Hydra line, produced with ingredients from the region. Find out more at: https://amakos.com.br/collections/copaiba
