Amazon Day

September 5th is celebrated as Amazon Day, one of the world's richest heritage sites and natural reserves.

With seven million square kilometers, five and a half million of which are forests, the date seeks to alert the population about conservation and raise awareness about the importance of this ecosystem for everyone's lives.

After all, the biome is fundamental in controlling climate change and preserving global biodiversity.

How do we contribute to protecting forests?

AMAKOS da Amazônia has in its DNA the policy of preserving the Standing Forest, following the precepts of ESG, guaranteeing the commitment to being as green as possible throughout the entire process, with pure and quality raw materials.

It also complies with ISO 16128, combining natural and agroforestry inputs from extractive communities and small producers in the Amazon biome.

It also meets eight of the 17 SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) in order

established by the United Nations (UN):

1 - Eradication of poverty

8 - Decent Work and Economic Growth

9 - Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure

10 - Reduction of Inequalities

11- Sustainable Cities and Communities

12- Sustainable Consumption and Production

13- Action Against Global Climate Change

17-Partnerships and Means of Implementation

Amazonian assets

Amakos da Amazônia has a collection of cosmetics. There are 12 dermatologically tested products, divided into four lines: Copaíba Hydra; Cacay Vital; the Antioxi Dragon Blood; and Green Nanotechnology.

Dragon's Blood Line Antioxi

Dragon's Blood resinCroton lechieri Mueli. Arg, scientific name) is present in AMAKOS formulas from the Amazon, especially due to the active proanthocyanidin, an antioxidant 20 times more powerful than vitamin C and 50 times more powerful than vitamin E, to neutralize free radicals, reduce fine lines and wrinkles, stimulate the production collagen, firm the skin, even out tone, prevent blemishes, contribute to regeneration, deeply hydrate, all to prevent premature aging.

Copaíba Hydra

The Copaíba resinCopaifera sp, scientific name), an Amazonian plant known as the “miracle tree”, is present in AMAKOS da Amazônia formulas as it generates a highly complex oil, used for over 500 years. In its composition, there is copalic acid, which is anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, antiseptic and has high healing power. It also has a high ability to reflect light, which gives the skin a luminous appearance. Its extraction takes place in the Uatumã Sustainable Development Reserve, a Conservation Unit located in the northeast region of the State of Amazonas.

Cacay Vital Line

Cacay (Caryodendron orinocense, scientific name) is a tree whose seeds extract powerful oil (with phytosqualane, which is moisturizing). It contains 50% more vitamin E, twice as much linoleic acid (vitamin F) as Argan oil, and three times as much retinol (vitamin A) as rosehip oil.

In Amakos da Amazônia formulas, Cacay is used for its concentration of retinol, which contributes to the mimicking of natural squalane, a process that causes some vegetable oils to “mimic” the properties of squalane found in human skin, contributing to the hydration and protection, due to its compatibility and similarity with the lipid composition of the skin.

It also increases its resistance to aggression, resulting in hydrated, revitalized and soft skin. Due to its cell regeneration effects, it stimulates the production of collagen and elastin, minimizing the harmful effects of free radicals.

Nano Açaí

Nanotechnology is present in Amakos da Amazônia formulas through active nanocapsules developed using green technology. Nanobiotechnology allows the nanoencapsulation of assets and it is worth explaining that nanometer (nm) is a measurement of something very small, for example 1nm is equivalent to one billionth of 1 meter.

Therefore, the nanometric size allows the nanoencapsulated active ingredients to penetrate the deepest layers of the skin, improving their absorption. Another point is that the active ingredients are gradually released from the nanocapsules, ensuring a prolonged effect, without requiring frequent reapplication.

Another advantage of the nanotechnology used at Amakos da Amazônia is that inside the nanocapsules, the active ingredients are protected from degradation or volatilization reactions, ensuring greater stability and increased product performance.

Did you already know about these natural riches? AMAKOS da Amazônia connects local tradition with innovation, bringing the best of biodiversity to your skincare. Value your beauty in a sustainable and conscious way, always!
